A downloadable game for Windows

The spirits have abandoned your tribe. The earth is dying. As the elder shaman, you don the sacred Melodask — an ancient mask that channels the power of music into magic — and lead your people across the wasteland to the promised land.

Play melodies to cast spells. Summon food. Call rain. Lift spirits. Each melody you perform sustains your tribe through one more stretch of the brutal journey — from desolate steppes, through scorched deserts and cursed forests, to lands where the spirits still dwell.

Five keys. Five notes. One chance to save your people.

🎵 Real-time synthesized music — the drum machine and synth generate your melodies live as you play, layered over handcrafted ambient tracks that shift to match each environment

🥁 Dynamic soundscapes — drums, synth, and ambient music transform as you enter new environments

🎹 Simple controls, deep rhythm — master melodies on keys 1-2-3-4-5 to cast increasingly complex spells

Made in one week for Global Game Jam 2026 (extended format, Jan 26 – Feb 1)

All assets handcrafted — no generative AI used. 3D models in Blender, UI in Procreate, images in GIMP, reference and ambient music in Ableton. Terrain built with Terrain3D plugin (free textures from Poly Haven).

Really fun! Loved this game. Very cute. Glad for the pause screen showing you the scores. I can imagine a game with more levels like this, maybe like the tribe's journey. I like the art style, it feels nostalgic. Great job in the jam and a fun demonstration! :D

Might be easier to read with the meters closer to the bottom of the screen, above the stave, maybe going from the left to right instead of being in the top left going vertically. Maybe with some different audio cues for each stat when it's low to help with sensory input. Maybe even labelling numbers on the dots in the score (unless you think that'd be too easy).

Hey Kai! Thanks a lot for giving the game a try and constructive feedback :)

Your meters feedback is super useful. Reading it I thought: damn, why we didn't think of it ourselves hahah! Guess it definitely has something to do with how focused you get on actually finishing the game for the jam so such little neat details escape your attention.

Also I like your audio cues idea, this will allow to keep players' attention on the stave while communicating to them that they are entering danger zone of losing the game and need to catch up with a stat. And the numbers on the dots make a lot of sense as well, will definitely make it easier to perform new melodies and I don't think it will trivialize the game challenge.

Would love to play but I use linux :(

damn
I was curious of finding a nice way to play the game on steamdeck. If I get to it I will definitely upload the linux build tested on my deck!
